This is a great immunity booster when you're feeling under the weather. I always juice a lot when my kids are sick. I made this in my juicer, not blender.
Ingredients:
2 apples
2 oranges
2 limes
4 carrots
1 sweet potato

Best Almond Milk
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. raw almonds, soaked overnight
6 c. water
2-4 dates (depends on desired sweetness)
1 t. vanilla extract
1 T. coconut oil
Pinch of sea salt
Pinch of cinnamon
Directions:
1. Rinse & drain the soaked almonds (allow to soak for at least 8 hrs).
2. Combine all ingredients in a high power blender (I use a VitaMix) and blend on HIGH for 1 min.
3. Place a fine mesh sieve over a large bowl. Then place a few layers of cheesecloth, or a nut milk bag (yes, this is a real thing, and I LOVE mine!!!) in the sieve.
4. Pour 1/4-1/3 of the almond milk in the cheesecloth and gently squeeze out the milk.
**This makes almost 2 quarts of almond milk. If your blender is small, I recommend halving the recipe.**
Keeps in the fridge for 3-5 days. The milk will separate, so give it a good shake before drinking.
You can use the ground almonds to make your own almond meal. Just spread it out on a parchment lined cookie sheet & bake @ 300 degrees for 1-2 hrs. Then grind in a food processor & store in a mason jar.

Green Citrus Razzle Dazzle
The hubby and I just got done doing a 3-day cleanse. We had the stomach flu last week (sorry, TMI I know!) and just weren't feeling 100%. Fruits and veggies only for 3 days, including a lot of juicing. By the end we felt so good, I seriously think we should eat like this all the time! If you've never tried it, you should. You'll be glad you did!
I found this beauty on Pinterest. Seriously, what did we do before Pinterest? My kiddos loved it so much, we had it twice in one day! It's pretty thick so you may want to add more juice.
Ingredients:
1-2 c. juice (pom, acai, mango, whatever as long as it's 100% juice!)
2 giant handfuls of spinach
1 handful of baby carrots
2 oranges
1-2 bananas (depending on size)
1 c. frozen raspberries
Ice (optional)
Blend it all up & thank me later!
Green Protein Smoothie
You know that I love my protein shakes for breakfast, especially in the summer months. They are a great way to get lots of fresh produce and protein in to start your day off right. Plus, they really help me recover after a tough workout (like the 5 am spin class I went to this morning!). I love to add fruits AND veggies, but my family doesn't always love how veggie-ish they taste sometimes. The combo of banana & pineapple hides the massive amounts of spinach so well, you really don't even know it's in there. Well, besides the fact that it's green.
Ingredients:
1 scoop vanilla whey protein
1 small box (11 oz) coconut water
1/2 small frozen banana
1 giant handful of spinach
1 c. fresh pineapple
**This makes one serving**

Best Protein Shake

I got this shake from Gwenyth Paltrow's website/blog (www.goop.com). It is the best protein shake I've had and keeps me full all day! A great way to get a lot of protein (28g) and sustain you if you're on a diet.
Ingredients:
1 scoop 100% whey protein
1 scoop progreens (vegetable) protein
1 1/2 c. almond milk
1/2 c. blueberries
or for variety
1 scoop 100% whey protein
1 scoop progreens (vegetable) protein
1 1/2 c. rice milk
1/2 c. strawberries
1/2 banana
Blend all ingredients until smooth.
**You can find all the protein powders & almond milk at any health food store.**
