Homemade Deodorant

Store bought deodorants are full of harmful chemicals that you shouldn't be putting on your body. I swear that I used to stink & sweat MORE when I was using store bought deodorants. This homemade version is amazing! My whole family uses it. You can buy empty deodorant containers from Amazon. This batch makes about 6 deodorants.

Ingredients:
1 c. coconut oil, melted
3/4 c. aluminum free baking soda
1/2 c. food grade diotemaceous earth
1 c. cornstarch
15 drops on guard oil
15 drops purify oil
15 drops melaleuca oil
15 drops lavender oil
15 drops lemon oil

Whisk together coconut oil, baking soda, DE, & cornstarch. Once it's combined, add your essential oils. Pour into empty deodorant containers and place in the refrigerator until set.

Homemade Conditioner

This is VERY thick and hydrating. I recommend using shampoo to get your hair clean, then use this conditioner & let it soak in for a few minutes, then shampoo again or your hair will be oily from the coconut oil.

Ingredients:
1 c. coconut oil, melted
1 t. vitamin E oil
1 t. sweet almond oil
10 drops lavender essential oil

Homemade Shampoo

I put this in a foaming soap dispenser bottle. Works so much better than store-bought shampoo and it doesn't have any chemicals! I use Dr. Bronner's Orange soap.

Ingredients:
1/4 c. filtered water
1/4 c. coconut milk
1/2 c. Dr. Bronner's Liquid Castile Soap
20 drops essential oils (I like orange, but you could also use peppermint or lavender)
1/2 t. sweet almond oil

Homemade Body Wash

I love this stuff! It's way cheaper than the kind you would buy, plus it's all natural ingredients. And the best part is it doesn't dry out my skin. It makes about 20 oz.

Ingredients:
1 T. steel cut oats
1 c. filtered water
2 T. sweet almond oil
1 T. raw honey
1 t. citric acid
1 t. guar gum
1 1/2 c. Dr. Bronner's liquid castile soap
10-20 drops essential oil of choice (I used wild orange oil)

Directions:
1. Boil the water and infuse it with the oats for about an hour.
2. In a bowl, whisk together the oil, honey, citric acid & infused water.
3. Add the guar gum and whisk and then immediately (so you don't get clumps) add the soap.
4. Stir in the essential oil and store in a bottle. (I used an empty kombucha bottle).
